Mild Weather Thaws More Than Ice

The last few days have been more like early Spring rather than the dead of winter. It’s been a nice change to walk around town and meet neighbors walking their dogs and pushing strollers. The kids are out on their bikes, skateboards and scooters. I can hear them laughing and playing basketball in the back alley. If I close my eyes, it sounds like April. If one could trap a day in a bottle, today would be that day. This weather just brings out the “nice” in everyone. If you don’t believe me just go down to Shop Rite. People are smiling, chatting outside, offering to help with heavy bags. The mild temps have brought back that close knit feeling that Eddystone is famous for. I hope everyone is getting out and enjoying this reprieve that Mother Nature has granted us from the wrath of Old Man Winter. FYI...Spring training is right around the corner. The Phillies' first full workout is Feb. 24. Can't you just hear the crack of the bats?
