Up to date news on the happenings in Eddystone, PA. For such a small town, there's always BIG drama...inside and outside Borough Council Chambers.

Paterson tops Council tallies

Dave Paterson, Republican candidate for Eddystone Borough Council, defeated his endorsed GOP counterparts in a highly contested local election.  Paterson received 334 votes, 18 more than incumbent Kevin Begley, and 43 more than Danielle Thompson.   Those three will take office in January, as they defeated Democratic challenger Matt Stone, who put up a respectable 154 votes in our Republican controlled town.

Paterson, who has run without the local GOP parties’ support, again demonstrated that the majority of people in our Borough support his platform.

Perhaps Paterson’s finishing at the top of the list will open the eyes of the current Council and the GOP leaders to see that not everyone in the town is buying what they are selling.  Paterson’s win marks the third straight election where endorsed GOP candidates have not come out on top at the polls.

Congratulations to the three winners.  There are large issues facing Eddystone’s future, and it is time for its leaders to starting positioning our community for future growth.   During the election, all three candidates have said they were for positive change.  Let's see who keeps their promise.
