The "Ayes" Have It?

A new year and new members of council. Unfortunately, the same old antics. They "nominated" a president, vice president, secretary/treasurer, solicitor, engineer and auditor. All members of council, including Councilwoman Thompson, read a nomination from a handwritten piece of paper. Everyone except Councilman David Paterson. The first stonewall of the year. The nominations were obviously predetermined and Mr. Paterson was not included. I guess we know who the puppets are.

Some things never change. My guess is that residents won't let this behavior continue. Speaking of the residents, Council Chamber was filled with people wanting to witness the swearing in of the new council members. I wonder if that many people had ever shown up to a reorganization meeting before?
