Up to date news on the happenings in Eddystone, PA. For such a small town, there's always BIG drama...inside and outside Borough Council Chambers.

Fire reported at CIM's Penrose Avenue site over Memorial Day weekend

Thanks to all of those who fought to keep this nightmare out of our community.  The scrap fire at Penrose Avenue could have just as easily been in Eddystone if it had not been for the few people who stood up and had the forward thinking to see that this company, despite its promises to try and be a good neighbor, would have ultimately destroyed our wonderful, small town.  The fire started within the actual shredder, meaning that a prohibited item made it through CIM's inspections, or a tank was not completely drained of gasoline and/or oil, before the scrap was shredded.  This fire was a direct result of CIM's inability to police its own practice.

The Mayor and Council members so in favor of this company should be thanking the residents who saved our community from hazardous fires and explosions that are still taking place at this facility.
