Kevin Begley resigned from Council, a mere 4 months into his newly elected term. Given this startling development coupled with his campaign promises, we can only assume that something must be wrong and will keep him and his family in our thoughts.
Kelly Butkus should be
appointed to this vacant seat. Kelly made
it clear that she had interest when Bobby Howat resigned a few months
back. Given her lifelong service to this community, and
her desire to be on Council, Kelly Butkus is
what this town needs. She has the
support of her family, which will make her term on Council successful.
Kelly has been active on the
recreational board, helping to ensure our children have a
safe place to be in the winter.
She weathered the political turmoil as Kevin Begley and Ralph Orr tried
to splinter the cohesiveness of a recreational board that ran operations
under budget for many years.
Kelly stood up and spoke her mind, based on researched
information, to fight to protect our children and our
senior citizens.
She has attended just about every Council meeting over the last several
years. How many residents can say this? We have members of Council,
serving right now, who do not attend monthly meetings. One has missed 2 out of 4 this year
alone. When that woman was sitting
at home, Kelly was at the Council meetings.
Kelly knows how to fight. She has the determination, fortitude, intelligence, and forward thinking that will help Eddystone grow. She has the ideas and desire to
put forth a plan that will help our
property values increase.
We have been led down a path of decline by a
Mayor who is so worried about his own personal agenda and
feelings of importance that he cannot see beyond his own small minded thinking
to know what is good for Eddystone. He doesn’t understand that people like Kelly Butkus are
good for Eddystone because he cannot see beyond his own hurt ego as a result of
Kelly speaking out against him.
Kelly needs to be on Council and the people of Eddystone
need to once again unite our voice against the personal agenda of ORR to protect our town’s future growth.
Speak to your Council members; their vote, not Orr’s,
matters. Most importantly, attend
Monday night’s Council meeting at 7 PM, sign the public forum board, and let
this Council know that we want people on Council who want to see Eddystone
thrive in the future. We need leaders fostering positive growth
to correct the housing price debacle created by Orr and his
people.
Kelly Butkus is a step in the right
direction.
If our community continues to support leaders like Orr who
advance their personal agendas, then we also need to acceptt the 50% loss in
home values thanks to their poor visionary leadership.
Get to the Council meeting on Monday night at 7 PM and speak
up on behalf of your home values.
Support Kelly Butkus.
